Leadership Academies (LA’s) are after-school workshops held directly on-site at all PUSD high schools that focus on youth and soft skill development, college readiness, and preparing students to succeed in high school and college. Leadership Academies also incorporate writing activities to support continually improving our students' writing skills as they prepare for college. Freshman and Sophomores will be going over time management, Juniors will focus on majors and careers, and Seniors will be going over financial literacy.

Students are encouraged to attend Medical workshops if they are interested in getting direct experiences in the medical field. Students get to learn about tobacco cessation and the dangers of tobacco, vaping, and strategies for quitting. This will be taking place at our Bright Prospect office.

Fall Fest is a special event where students, their families, and friends can come together for a fun-filled day. With exciting seasonal games, tasty treats, and family-friendly activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. It’s also a great chance to connect with our community and celebrate the support that helps our high school students on their journey to college.

Bright Prospect organizes a peer support structure called Crews, small groups of students with trained peer leaders that form in high school and continue through college. A "crew" typically consists of up to six students who encourage and support each other toward goals, guided by a Crew leader who receives monthly training and alerts staff of any challenges crew members may face that require staff support.

During these sessions, coaches will help students catch up on the key topics they missed, including forming and re-forming CREWS, upperclass preparation, and essential study skills. These makeups ensure that all students stay on track with their learning and are prepared for the next steps in their journey.
